PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Some Instructors want to continue the PADI trail to higher education. After being a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and obtaining 25 certifications, some instructors want to join an IDC staff and teach new instructors how to be good instructors. To be able to take part in an IDC, you will need to become an IDC Staff Instructor.

As an IDC Staff Instructor, you can:

  • Independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors at PADI 5 Star Dive Centers and Resorts

  • Conduct IDC training segments with a Course Director is present

  • Evaluate and critique instructor candidates during their teaching presentations

  • Provide counseling and remedial training for candidates and IDC Staff Instructor candidates

  • Assist with the instructor continuing educational programs

  • Attend and observe the orientation and closing sessions of an IE

Prerequisites for the IDC Staff Instructor course:

  • Teaching status PADI Instructor

  • PADI Master Scuba Diver Training

  • EFR Instructor

  • Agree to conduct all levels of diver training consistent with the standards and philosophy in the Instructor Manual, Guide to Teaching and the Course Director Manual

  • Agree to use the PADI System and its components in their entirety

The IDC Staff Instructor Course at Rainbow Reef coincides with an entire IDC. You will learn and teach in the IDC under the supervision of our Course Directors. You will learn how to grade presentations, provide feedback and learn to objectively give scores and guidance to the candidates.
